Wisdom Portrayed As A Tree Of Life!

The Tree Of Life Gives Life!

The wonderful tree of life, discussed in the two “book ends” of the Bible, Genesis and Revelation, is one of the most fascinating (yet enigmatic) subjects in all the inspired word of God. It is first mentioned in Genesis 2:9.

tree of life

Long is in her right hand, riches and honor in her left.

Proverbs 3:16 (CJB)

Wisdom is pictured as a woman bearing gifts in each hand. Her left hand offers riches and honor. In her right hand, the position of preference, she bears the gift of long . But wisdom is even better than these.

Her ways are pleasant ways, and all her paths are peace.

Proverbs 3:17 (CJB)

Unlike the confused darkness of the path to destruction in chapter 2, the paths of wisdom are pleasant and peaceful. Wisdom puts us on the path of highest pleasure, not boredom. Peace (Heb. Shalom) stands for the joy and prosperity that accompany the full blessing of god, not merely the absence of conflict.

She is a tree of life to those who grasp her; whoever holds fast to her will be made happy.

 Proverbs 3:18 (CJB)

Wisdom is portrayed as a tree of life, giving refreshment and nourishment. In Genesis 2:9, the tree of life gives life, and the replanted tree of life in Revelation 22:1-2 gives healing. Wisdom gives life to those who cling to her.

The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life, and he who is wise wins souls.

Proverbs 11:30 (CJB)

Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but desire fulfilled is a tree of life.

Proverbs 13:12 (CJB)

A soothing tongue is a tree of life, but when it twists things, it breaks the spirit.

Proverbs 15:4 (CJB)

DECLARATION OF FAITH

Long life is in her right hand and in her left are riches and honor. I have determined to embrace her like a lover. My union with her brings me happiness, prosperity, and health.

I shall enjoy the pleasantries of life, follow the paths of peace and end my days an old, vibrant and happy man/woman.

I declare this declaration of faith in the name of Jesus Christ! Amen.
