Created In The Image Of God!

“So God created man in His own image, in the image and likeness of God He created him; male and female He created them.”

Genesis 1:27 (AMP)

Men and women are created, not evolved, and they’re created in the image of God. This is a tremendous privilege and a great responsibility. Every baby that’s conceived is made in God’s image and has the right to live, to be in a loving family, to come to know God through Jesus Christ, and to enjoy a life that’s purposeful and fulfilling.

Made In God's Image For God

This account of the creation states that male and female were both created on the sixth day of creation. The account given in Genesis 2 might imply that a period of time longer than a day passed between the creation of Adam and the creation of Eve, but this verse would exclude that. Suffice it to say that Scripture doesn’t contradict itself. Moses wouldn’t have contradicted himself. Genesis 1 presents a broad view of creation, and Genesis 2 focuses on the creation of man, the animals, and Eve.

Since God has given us a mind to think with, we need to read His Word and learn His truth. He’s given us a will to decide with, and we must make wise decisions that please Him. We have hearts to love Him, and we show this love by fellowshipping with Him and obeying His will. Our inner being is spiritual, and we need God dwelling within if we’re to have inner peace and satisfaction.

The fact that we’re all created in the image of God means that we must love and protect one another. God gives life and only God can take it away. He’s given to human government the authority for capital punishment, for the murderer attacks the very image of God.

The image of God in us has been marred by sin, but that image can be restored as we walk with God and yield to His Spirit (2 Cor. 3:18). Since God made us, He knows what’s best for us; and He’s given us His Word as our guidebook for life. It’s the “manual of operations” and we must get acquainted with it. When all else fails, read the instructions.

Sex Is God’s idea & He knows Best How It Should Be Used

God made the first humans “male and female.” He did it not just so they could reproduce and keep the human race going, but also that they might learn to love and enjoy one another and discover their loving relationship to the Lord. His original intent was one man for one woman for one lifetime.

The Bible isn’t a “sex manual,” but it does make some things very clear. It’s clear that sexual sins are destructive not only to the body and the inner person, but also to other people, especially one’s mate and family. God created man and woman for each other; any other combination is out of God’s will, no matter what society and the courts might say. God invented marriage, and sex outside the loving bonds of marriage is wrong.

God created Adam as a living being, in His image, and gave him authority over everything else He created.  Man was created to rule under God and to be the physical carrier of God’s Spirit in the earth. Part of human nature is that we, as living beings like Adam, have a free will. Why? Because God loves us so much and so loves He does not force submission from anyone. He wants us to freely choose to love and serve Him. I hope that today you will make a fresh and willful commitment to love and serve God with all your heart.

“And God blessed them and said to them, Be fruitful, multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it [using all its vast resources in the service of God and man]; and have dominion over the fish of the sea, the birds of the air, and over every living creature that moves upon the earth. “

Genesis 1:28 (AMP)

This verse gives mankind a God-given mandate to subdue and dominate every living thing on the earth. Later, God placed a fear of man in every animal (Genesis 9:2).

Here in the very first chapter of the Bible, God clearly communicates His desire for our lives to be fruitful. Two things necessary to live fruitful lives are:

  1. Balance
  2. Pruning.

To stay balanced we need to make sure we get the right amounts of healthy nourishment, rest, work, play, time alone with God, and time to enjoy godly relationships.

Pruning is not always pleasant, but it does ensure that the situations, activities, or relationships that are depleting us will not continue to do so. It means something must be cut off or removed from our lives, but God promises great reward as a result – more fruitfulness than ever!

Stay balanced by letting God, the wise Master Gardener, prune your life as He sees fit, and you will enjoy years of fruitfulness and fulfillment.

I am created in the image and likeness of almighty God. I have been given authority (complete rule and dominion) over the fish of the sea, the birds of the air, the beasts of the field and every creeping thing on the earth. I am a representation of God’s authority and likeness, and have been given rulership of this planet. He has blessed me and commanded me to take dominion over it and subdue it for His glory.
I declare this declaration of faith in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ! Amen.
